High School Programming Competition
The annual High School Programming Competition will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2008 from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Dr. Elenbogen needs volunteers to assist with the competition. All volunteers will receive a free lunch and a hat. If you can help for all or any part of the day, let Dr. Elenbogen know.

Dr. Elenbogen also requests that all ACM members deliver a flyer about the event to their high school’s computer programming or web design teacher. Flyers were distributed at the meeting and more are available by contacting Dr. Elenbogen.

There will be a test of the software used to process submissions for the contest sometime next week. Dr. Elenbogen will need volunteers to assist with the test. Information about the event will be emailed when it becomes available.

T-Shirts
We still need a design for the t-shirts. When we receive enough submissions, members will vote for their favorite and the artist of the winning design will receive a free shirt. Please send your ideas to Roger ASAP.

Party Simulator
ACM co-sponsored the Party Simulator last Thursday, March 6. Thank you to all the ACM members who attended the event.

Ideas for Future Events

*College programming competition similar to the ICPC with just UM-D students competing against each other.

*Video game competition: play games in tournament format.

We need volunteers to assist with the planning and implementation of all ACM events. If you have an idea or would like to help, feel free to contact any of the officers.

Picnic/Barbeque
The officers are planning to hold a barbeque or party of some sort at the end of the semester, after finals. More information will be available at the next meeting.
