Get me administrative access to the forums, and I'll take a look at finding out where it failed, and improve on it. Did we delete the bogus user already? Because, I'll need an email address for the spammer to look into.

Everything he changed he changed in code, it's phpBB that's broke when it comes to users registering without actually going through the registration process (they're doing some sort of workaround to get in, and I don't know how they are doing it). Also we allow people with the big 4 webmail services to register, along with umd.umich and umich, and a few sparse others that we know that we can use. It's also out of the question that we only allow people with umd.umich mail to register, it won't help the people that are avoiding the registration altogether. A little bit of spam now and again isn't that bad, and this place is quite clean.
And we're not blacklisting, we're whitelisting. |
